Field Intelligence telemetry units send data to you through the Internet from remote sites anywhere in the world. The use of our dual mode system provides our customers with both satellite and cellular service. The FI system consists of 4 basic components: Telemetry unit, Wireless channel, FI data servers, and FI (or Customer) website.

FI Telemetry Unit – FI developed its own custom telemetry units, the FI-100 and FI-200, which are designed for agricultural, industrial and environmental applications. These units can be configured or custom programmed to meet your application requirements. Additionally, FI partners with multiple satellite modem manufacturers and is able to quickly customize hardware and embedded software solutions when a custom telemetry unit is desired. The FI team can custom program any of our partners modems, and provide custom hardware interfaces to sensors and systems.

Wireless Channel – FI has partnered with the leading satellite and cellular carriers to enable the long-haul wireless channel for your data. If the cellular channel meets your application requirements and is the most cost effective, FI will utilize this channel. Otherwise, one of our satellite channels will be used. All of this is seamless to you, the customer. You receive the data through the FI servers and the selected website/ mobile units independent of the data carrier. FI further removes you from the complexity of carrier negotiations and the associated communication system selection complexities by billing you directly for airtime. You will receive only one bill, and this will come directly from FI. There will be no roaming charges.

FI Data Servers – The data from the FI telemetry unit is sent over the appropriate wireless channels and arrives at the FI data servers. These servers parse the incoming data and place it in a secure database unique to each customer. From this database, the data can be reassembled in the manner that you choose, and either pushed or pulled to your website. A typical solution is to reassemble the data into a spreadsheet or CVS file, and automatically route the data to your Internet location of choice.

FI or Customer Website – Straightforward data presentation either through the Field Intelligence web site or the customer’s web interface. FI has developed simple access mechanisms that allow you to pull data from our site, or have the data automatically routed to your site in your desired format. With the use of our web interface partners, the FI solution is turn-key, requiring no technology development on your part.
